Design studio Fraher & Findlay has revamped and broadened a home in east London, including a little patio that offers looks at old and new pieces of the property.

Tsubo House was initially constructed in Hackney during the Victorian time and throughout the years had come to look decrepit.

The house’s proprietors, which also founded Studio XAG, brought Fraher and Findlay on board in order to do a total upgrade.

As a feature of the works, the Brockley-based practice developed an open back-garden addition to the house.

It was key for this new living space to feel firmly associated with existing rooms in the home and not very separated from the basement floor, which is now utilized as a guest area.
