Kayak Point House is a home that highlights the beautiful landscape of the Pacific Northwest.

The home’s plan is set by huge cedar trees on the plot and it draws inspiration from the Swiss heritage of one of the proprietors.

Wanting to keep the huge cedar trees intact, rather than the usual foundations, the central part of the house was given two huge steel bars that helped suspend the entrance. This structure creates a connection between the private rooms and living spaces.

Moreover, the interiors play with light so that they continuously reference the landscape surrounding the house.

The house was thought of as a one-level space to additionally improve its association with nature.
