It is called “The Curtain Table”, the new creation by Berlinese studio Läufer & Keichel. The table intends to defy gravity with its unusual yet timeless design, which sees two thin legs being curved as simulating a flowing curtain.

The two airy legs support a solid table top made of hard wood, creating a beautiful contrast that gifts the product with unprecedented personality.

The table’s design was followed by Julia Läufer and Marcus Keichel who used a sophisticated technology which allowed the cutting of the wood in such an undulating and smooth shape.

When looking at the table, you can have the feeling of a moment suspended in time: in fact, the legs resemble a snapshot of a curtain that was being moved by the wind.

The table is intended to deliver a feeling of calm and inner peace, as the gentle curves of the leg elevate the solid table top, almost as all the weight was lifted from the surface and the table was in a new, ethereal state of being.

The table was manufactured by the German brand Zeitraum which crafts the item in ash, walnut or oak wood variants. The texture of the table is smooth and silky: it’s given by a gentle coat of natural oil which penetrates the wood and naturally turns it into a pleasure for the eye and for the touch.
