In the south of Cairngorms National Park, Scotland, what used to be an old Victorian house is now a contemporary temple made to admire the astonishing landscape that surrounds the building. The old house used to present farm buildings all around, which have now been restored by WT Architecture Studio and turned into a masterpiece partially buried in the hillside.

The house presents three stories with a rooftop, and the materials used for the constructions tell a story that speaks of the century-old beauty of the Scottish landscape. Once in the entryway, the low silhouette of the house extends as welcoming you into its walls made of wood and stone.

Once in the house, you will find yourself in what it’s the core of the whole building: a double-height entrance hall. The first floor also consists of the master bedroom, a dining hall, a sitting room, and a kitchen. Upstairs you will be able to admire the charming landscape from two bedrooms and a fitness room.

The materials have been partially recycled from the old house, such as the stone blocks that you will encounter as a recurring pattern throughout the whole structure. The house is exquisitely furnished with bespoke pieces of furniture such as the majestic dining table or the snug area.
