In the neighbouring areas of Amsterdam you can stop to have a meal by the beach at De Republiek restaurant, but food won’t be the only thing that will amaze you.

The restaurant, in fact, is a celebration of sandy tones and natural textures as the designers of Anne Claus Interiors, who curated the project, wanted to convey a warm and cozy atmosphere.

The building used to serve as a location for temporary events as it used to be build up and dismantled each and every summer. Its high ceilings and the 600 square-metre space now permanently host De Republiek restaurant, and it’s meant to stay.

The areas immediately give you a sense of coziness, such as the seating area featuring a big sofa with a fully functional fireplace. Every complement of the spaces has earthy and natural tones, almost wanting to bring in the shades of color you can see through the big windows facing the open ocean, the same ocean you can admire from a deck located on the outdoors for a meal during sunny days.

From the ceiling, a series of oval-shaped paper lanterns enlighten the big room at night and serve as a show-stopping detail during the day when the restaurant as a whole gets plenty of natural light, which is reflected by the light-toned walls and flooring almost like the sand reflects sunlight on an early morning during spring.
